Going to Cancun in Summer 2013

It’s time for a family vacation. Our big family consists of nine people: My wife Lee and I, our son Steve, his wife Jessica, their two kids: Cameron and Colby, our daughter Stephanie, her son Julian; and our youngest daughter Christina.

Due to the size of our family, we usually look for either a cruise or all-inclusive deal when we book a vacation.

This year, we found an all-inclusive package through Costco for a five-day stay at the Omni Cancun Hotel & Villas that also includes air fares and transfers.

An all-inclusive vacation is truly a vacation for a big family like ours because none of us would have to worry about grocery shopping, cooking or making restaurant reservations. We can just go there and relax. We had booked vacation packages through Costco in the past and had great experiences with them.

We have been to Cancun before but the last time we were there in 2009, the peninsula was still recovering from damages caused by Hurricane Dolly and the beaches weren’t as pristine as we had seen them so we’re looking forward to seeing the restored beaches this time.

Cancun is one of our favorite beach destinations (the other being Destin, Florida) and it’s only a three-hour flight from us, a hard-to-beat convenience.

We will be leaving DFW Airport on July 26, 2013 and returning on July 30th. Crossing our fingers for great weather and calm water.
